A loan of $1,150 helped to buy tables, plastic chairs and café products as well as raw materials.

Yenis's story

Yenis is 45 years old and the owner of a business located in the city of Cartagena where she lives with her partner and her two children who are 16 and 22 years old.

Yenis received all of her experience from her partner who started the snack shop. Later when he was ready he started another business and left the snack shop to her to help with the combined wellbeing of the home and increase the family income. On the weekends the business has a lot of commercial activity so her husband helps her on those days. Their dream is to strengthen the business and open two more locations, which would generate jobs.

This is the first loan she has taken out with Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. She will buy tables, plastic chairs and tasty café products as well as raw materials to start a new commercial location. Her biggest strengths are her experience in the market, the support of her family and the location of the business which is well known. Meanwhile, in her store she is running a current ratio of 1.75 and enjoys good profitability which makes her new investment sustainable.
