A loan of $550 helped to buy materials like wool and thread.

Fortunata's story

Fortunata's peers invited her to participate in Asociación Arariwa's "Chaska" communal bank because of her qualities as a hard-working and responsible person.

Fortunata tells Asociación Arariwa that she was born in the city of Cusco (Peru) and is 67 years old. Currently, she lives and works in the same city where she was born and has two children. Fortunata used to work in education but now works making handicrafts such as knit sweaters for children, babies, women, and men. She has been doing this work for several years and it is going very well thanks to the effort she puts into her work.

At this time, she needs a loan to buy wool, thread, and other materials.
