A loan of $375 helped to buy sacks of manure and to buy fruit.

Luisa's story

Luisa is 58 years old. She currently lives with her two children in her own house. Since she was born her parents instilled the value of hard work, like field chores, in her. Now, the fields she’s inherited serve to generate income for her that has helped her support her children who are now adults and upstanding citizens.

She continues farming such vegetables as carrots, onions, spinach, chard and corn, which she dries and hulls to sell at wholesale. She has it taken to Lima to sell at a sales stand that she acquired there. She also sells fruit in said stand. The stand has been in operation five years and it has produced good profits that compensate for the effort she’s put into the planting and harvesting seasons. She feels very satisfied to have reached improved economic conditions and wants to continue working.

She’s been working with MFP for years. She is a member that foments group unity in her communal bank. She feels proud to have this responsibility and is encouraged to continue working this way. She will use the requested loan to buy sacks of manure and also to buy fruit at wholesale to stock her fruit stand.
