Nahla is a 37-year-old young woman, married with two daughters and two sons. She lives with her family in Jabalia Refugee Camp in Gaza Strip. Nahla's husband is a Palestinian National Authority employee and that's why she had to take out a $2,000 loan in order to buy furniture for her daughters who are growing up and can't share the room with their two brothers anymore. FATEN's loan helped Nahla purchase the furniture and gave her the flexibility of baying back smaller amounts of money on a monthly basis. Nahla is photographed in FATEN's Branch office.

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes.
