A loan of $375 helped to buy hinges, wood, nails and other items.

Ulda Ruth's story

Señora Ulda is a member of the Miraflores community bank in the Yarinacocha District in the Department of Ucayali. She is 49 years old, and is a widow with two children.

She has been working with loans from Manuela Ramos for more than 12 years. Her business is a service that rents rooms; she has small rooms for rent for which she charges monthly.

With this new loan of 1000 New Soles, she will buy: a hundred tongue-and-groove wooden planks, 2 kilos of nails, 1 wooden window, 4 hinges, and 1 door.

With this loan she will be able to build another room which she will be able to offer for rent. Her house is in the center of the city. This business allows her to generate the income needed to provide for her children and give them what they need to be able to study.

Thanks to Manuela Ramos she has been able to help her children move forward in life, as she had an idea but had no money. She is very grateful for everything that she has built to this point to improve her family's life.
