Florentina's story

Florentina is a hardworking and responsible person. Because of these qualities, she was invited by friends to join the communal bank “Las Natividades” in the Asociación Arariwa.

Florentina was born in the city of Huarocondo in the Anta province of the department of Cusco, Peru. She is 52 years old, married, and has 3 children.

Now she lives in the city where she was born, and there she has developed her commercial activities. Florentina has a business raising small animals, such as pigs and guinea pigs. On festival days she prepares chicharrón and lechón (these are both traditional Peruvian pork dishes that are often consumed during the Patron Saint festivals.) She has a small stand that she operates from her house where she sells chicha de jora (a traditional Peruvian drink made from fermented corn.) She has had this business for a number of years, and it is going very well thanks to the effort that she puts into her work. At this time she requests a loan to buy a young cow (calf.)
