Teofila Saturdina's story

Teófila is a member of the Miraflores community bank which is located in Yarinacocha district, in Ucayali department. She is 58 years old, widowed, and has five children.

Teófila has been working with Manuela Ramos for 12 years. Her business is selling food. She starts her work very early in the morning because she has to go to the market to do all her shopping.

With her new loan for 3,000 Peruvian soles, Teófila will buy a blender, three medium-sized pans, 1 chopping board, 1 skimmer, 2 ladles and 3 serving spoons. She will also buy 1 sack of rice, 1 sack of sugar and 2 gallons of oil.

On this occasion, Teófila will buy the utensils that she needs the most so that she can work more comfortably. She has an assistant who serves her customers.

Thanks to loans from Manuela Ramos, Teófila is finishing off equipping her business. She has a son who is still studying and really needs her help. For this reason, she continues working.
