A loan of $1,100 helped to buy sacks of vegetables, herbs and pulses.

Edith's story

Edith is 38 years old and lives with her partner Iván. They have 4 children, whom they love dearly. The family lives in their own home, located in the city of Tarma. Edith's desire is to invest in her children's education, because she says that "the best inheritance they can have is to grow into professional people". For this reason, she has been dedicating herself to the sale of vegetables, herbs and maize for the past 12 years, in the largest market in Tarma. The main market days are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, when she can turn over 2000-3000 Soles in a day, generating a profit of 10%. What Edith likes best is when she is able to sell out of everything she has brought, because like any business there are highs and lows, and some times she has to keep stock over to sell the following day.

At the same time, she dedicates time to cultivating her land in the hamlet of Patay y Palca, where she sows potatoes and peas. She belongs to the "Integra" communal bank, and this is her 7th loan from [field partner] MFP. She hopes for your support in achiving her goals and vows to make her repayments on time. On receiving your support, Edith will invest the money in purchasing sacks of vegetables, herbs and pulses to sell at the market.
