Parveen's Group's story

Parveen is 41 years old and has three children. All of them are young and stay at home. Parveen is unable to send them to school due to financial constraints. She is a housewife, staying at home and taking care of her household responsibilities. She is very active and performs her duties very well. Besides her housework, she also sews clothes for neighboring clients and is very skillful. She operates her business on part-time basis. Her husband operates a shop in the market from which he sells pan (betel leaves) and cigarettes. He offers good cigarette brands to his clients which earns him a reasonably good income. Parveen has applied for a loan from Kiva partner Asasah for her husband's business. He will use it to purchase different brands of cigarettes; he also wants to buy drinks like Pepsi, Coca-Cola etc. to increase his sales. He has been operating his business for many years. Parveen is confident that her husband's business will be improved further after the loan is invested in it. She is a new loan applicant to Asasah and very hopeful about her family's bright future.
