A loan of $750 helped to buy several sacks of organic manure and natural fertilizers.

Reyna's story

Reyna is 27 years old and lives in the small village of Cayan. There she has formed a family with Amalio, her husband of 8 years. The couple have a son, 6 year-old Brandon, who they love and care for in their own home.

This self-sacrificing woman works as a farmer. For twelve years, she has been growing a variety of tubers such as potatoes, 'oca' and 'olluco' (both native tubers). With a lot of effort, she has managed to work her land and make it very productive; so much so that she sells her harvests in the wholesale market in the city of Tarma and makes good profits.

What Reyna most enjoys about her work is keeping her crops clear of weeds with the help of her husband who is with her unconditionally. Over the years, she managed to obtain her own farmland. This helps her to make more profits which she plans to invest in her children's education.

Reyna is starting to sow 'yungay' and 'andina' potato varieties and she is sure that she will obtain good results. In the future, she would like to improve her home.

Reyna is a member of the 'Corazón de Jesús' (Heart of Jesus) community bank and this is her seventh loan from MFP. She hopes to receive a small loan so that she can continue reaching for her goals. For this reason, she pledges to make her repayments on time. With your support, Reyna will invest the money she has requested in buying several sacks of organic manure and natural fertilizers to spread over the potatoes that she plans to sow.
