A loan of $350 helped to buy construction materials (cement, sand, etc.).

Sergio's story

Sergio was born in the province of Maputo in southern Mozambique. He is 23, single, and doesn't have children. He is currently taking ninth grade classes. He didn't finish school before due to his work schedule. He is also financially responsible for his mother who lives in the city of Maputo. He saves 500 meticals each month.

He moved to the district of Namaacha to spend a school holiday at his uncle's house. Luckily his uncle arranged employment for him and he began to work and stopped going to school. Today he has worked full time as a cleaner for more than 3 years. He makes 2,700 meticals a month that he puts towards his home's expenses. He also does electrical work in houses that are under construction.

This is his third loan with Hluvuku in the amount of 10,000 meticals that he will use to buy construction materials to continue work on his house. His previous loans were for 4,000 and 10,000 meticals that also went towards his home. He is confident that he will pay back his loan on time and ask for another one to finish the final details of his house.
