Edis Manuel
Edis Manuel lives in the city of Masaya. He has worked for Enacal for nine years, maintaining a pipe that carries potable water. He is married and has three dependent children for whom he works hard in order to provide them with what they need.

One of the needs that Edis Manuel's family has right now is the need to improve the condition of the roof and floor of their home since we are in the winter season and their roof is no good. Their house floor is just bare ground. Their children are little and it is affecting their health. Edis Manuel approached Ceprodel's office to request a loan so that he could buy sheets of corrugated metal, beams, cement and sand in order to make this improvement which will provide him with a decent home and a better quality of life for his children and his wife.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
