Avenida Lopez Avelar Group's story

This solidarity group is called Avenida López A.. It is located in the community to Jantetelco.

Señora Angela is 34 years old. She lives in a common-law marriage with her husband and they have three children. Lizbeth Natali is 12 years old and Anete is 10 years old. They are in primary school. Erick is 5 years old and is in preschool. She sells Fraiche brand women’s and men’s perfumes through a catalog.

She requested her loan to buy women’s and men’s perfumes and a part of it will also go to feeding her children. She began her business two years ago. Her aunt invited her to do sales and with a loan she received from Kiva and Fundación Realidad she invested in perfumes. She sells her products in Jantetelco and Amayuca. Her business is important because that is how she provides for her children’s school needs. She feels proud of her business because she goes out to sell perfume in her free time and she can care for her children.

She will use the profits to do whatever it takes to feed her children. She is happy with the loan she is going to receive because she will use it to invest in perfumes and will have various fragrances to offer to her customers. Her hopes and dreams are to add on to her house, building more rooms so that her children are more comfortable, and that her children get ahead in their studies.

The group’s members also incluD. Francisca, Angela and Eustolia who are going to buy wholesale perfumes and cosmetics. Señora Precilina is going to buy sodium hypochlorite to make bleach. Señora Carmela will buy bracelets, necklaces and ID bracelets. Señora Tranquilina is going to buy shoes wholesale. Señora María D. los Angeles will buy corn on the cob to sell esquites [corn and chili pepper based snack] and chileatole [savory corn beverage]. Señora Minerva and Señora Alberta will buy wholesale clothing such as blouses, pants, shirts, etc.

The members of the group want to tell Kiva and Fundación Realidad that “we thank them for their loans as there are many needy people, and may they continue helping us with loans.” Jantetelco is a town that has a nice warm climate and a view of the mountains. The people are friendly and it is tranquil with fields of corn, sweet potato, peanuts and sorghum.

In this group: Francisca, Preciliana, Carmela, Angela, Tranquilina , María De Los Angeles, Eustolia , Minerva, Alberta Eugenia
