Alicia's story

Alicia G. lives in the July 20 citadel, a neighborhood that combines formal and informal productive spaces, commercial zones, buildings, alongside residences, houses, supermarkets and it's mainly a place known in all of Colombia because nearby you can find one of the most important stages in the city and in Colombia: The Barranquilla Metropolitan Stadium where professional football is played and which is the headquarters of Barranquilla Junior, a team loved in the North Colombian coast. In this warm and friendly atmosphere, she lives with her husband and their two children who are 13 and 21 years old. Alicia is dedicated to selling merchandise through specialized product guides, such as cosmetics, clothing and footwear. She began her business in 2010 when she worked as an employee for a transportation company doing night shifts. She realized that she could manage a business simultaneously. For this, she has gradually built her own customer base, which has grown gradually. Her main customers are company employees, independent workers to whom she offers loans in accordance to their possibilities in agreed terms. Her hours are variable but she works approximately six hours a day. Her "crediKiva" is the first financing that she has made with Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. With it, she will buy products that her customers have requested and that rotate very quickly, such as cosmetics and clothing. Her goal is to increase her profits by applying all of her effort and investing permanently in it and even now count on the additional working capital that is a product of crediKiva.
