A loan of $450 helped to buy ingredients for making food.

Juanita's story

Juanita is from a town known as Emiliano Zapata which is located in Tecpatan, Chiapas. She is married to Javier and they have a son called Javier who is 7 years old.

Juanita makes food and she requested this loan to buy ingredients such as meat, vegetables, tortillas, etc. She has been running her business for two years and is happy because it is doing well. She has had good results.

Juanita's inspiration for her business was her own family as she wanted to make better income for them. She decided to set up a 'cocina económica' (a small, informal restaurant selling affordable home-made food) as this is a business that makes good profits and it would help her financially.

What Juanita most wants is to be able to expand her premises over time so that she can improve her service to her customers who come to her establishment to eat every day. She would also like to save up so that she can support her son who is in school.
