Romain Preira Group's story

This community group was created on the 3rd of June, 2010 and is made up of eight women who live in the same quarter. They all run small businesses. Madame Awa, who is on the right with her hand raised in the photo, is the group leader. She is 38 years old, and married with two children. She looks after another two children placed in her care by their parents. She has sold soap for a living for a number of years, and this loan will enable her to boost her working capital and develop the business. The profits will enable her to improve her family's living conditions (health, food, clothing etc) and to increase her level of savings.
