A loan of $550 helped to buy products for her business like used clothing.

Arminda's story

Arminda is from the city of Maputo in the province of Maputo in southern Mozambique. She is the single mother of 5 children, and she doesn't remember their respective ages. She finished studying through the ninth grade and stopped due to the lack of financial resources. Now she is starting her studies again. She lives in her own house with her family and doesn't support anyone besides them.

She never left Maputo. She has had her business for more than 19 years and makes 3,500 meticals a month, which she puts towards her home's expenses. She also saves some in her bank account at the BIM bank.

She has never had a loan with other banks. She became familiar with Hluvuku through friends who are also clients of the institution. This is her third loan in the amount of 15,000 meticals, which she will use to buy products for her business like used clothing. Her previous loans were for 5,000 and 10,000 meticals.

Her dream is to build a large commercial location to expand her business for which she plans on requesting more loans from Hluvuku.
