A loan of $4,300 helped a member to buy groundnuts.

Bamtare Group's story

The solidarity group Bamtare was created 3 years ago. It is made up of 14 women, all from the same village, and whose main activity is farming and retail.

Mrs. Khadida, seated, far right, with her arm raised, is the group's leader. She makes groundnuts into paste for retail. She has been doing this for several years, so she has plenty of experience. The loan will allow her to buy enough groundnuts to meet her customers' demand. Her goal is to see her children continue their studies, by paying for their school fees.

In this group: Maimouna, Roubiyatou, Kadidia, Coumba, Fatou*, Houleye, Mariama Yero, Aminata, Kadidia Mamadou, Dienabou, Salimata, Ramata, Wopa, Sirayel
