A loan of $325 helped to buy produce (refreshments, beers, cakes, biscuits and other items).

Gloria's story

Originating from Manhiça, in the southern Mozambican province of Maputo, Gloria is a married mother of 2 children, both of whom are 18 years old and attend school. Gloria attended school up to the 4th Grade and then stopped going owing to her financial situation. She lives in her own home with her children and does not support anybody else besides.
She left Manhiça and moved to Maputo when she got married. For the last 12 years, she has been running her own business and does not have any employees. She earns 6,000MZN each month which she uses for household expenses and puts a little away as savings in her bank account.
She has never borrowed money from other banks. She heard about Hluvuku through friends of hers who are also Hluvuku clients and businesspeople. This is her first loan for 9,000MZN which she intends to use to buy produce, such as refreshments, beers, cakes, biscuits and other items, in order to increase her business stock.
She is confident that she will easily meet the repayments. Her dream is to expand her business and she intends to apply for further loans with Hluvuku in order to achieve this aim.
