A loan of $2,000 helped a member to buy clothes to sell at the market.

Arbejitas Group's story

'Arbejitas' is a solidarity group with Credituyo that is in its first lending cycle. It consists of 6 members with small businesses to the north of Monterrey city. They chose that name for the group because it's the name of the street where they hold their weekly meetings. Most of the group's members work selling new and used clothing at the market.

Cynthia Elizabeth is one of the group members; she has 3 daughters and is pregnant, and lives with her partner. Cynthia sells new clothes at the market near her home, and also has a snack stand at home where she sells soft drinks, sweets and snacks. She supports her husband with household expenses since he works in construction and sometimes does not have work.

With this loan, Cynthia hopes to buy several bales of clothes to sell and increase her profits. One of her long-term goals is to create a cybercafe (Internet Cafe) in her home, which she believes is a good business in her community.

In this group: Blanca, Cynthia Elizabeth, Deyanira Berenice, Lizeth Carolina, Ma Soledad, Maria De Los Angeles
