A loan of $800 helped to buy chickens.

Reyna Esmeralda's story

Reyna Esmeralda is 53 years old and lives in the municipality of Patuca, Olancho. She started selling cheese from a very early age in adjacent communities and gradually, with help from FAMA loans, she’s been diversifying her business. Now, she also raises chickens in her yard. She tends to her businesses alone and starts very early in the morning.

Reyna is asking for the loan to buy more pounds of cheese and materials to build chicken coops for more chicks With support from the loan she hopes that her sales will increase so that she can cover her and her family’s needs.

For the moment, the challenge she’s facing is that she does not have a chicken coop to raise her chicks in. Her goal is to make her business grow so that she can continue to humbly support her family. Reyna’s been a FAMA client for six years and she’s always made her installment payments punctually.
