A loan of $550 helped to hire farm laborers to prune her cacao fields.

Felicitas's story

Felicitas is 46 years old and a widow. She lives with her five children on the banks of the Apurimac river in the community of Puerto Mayo located in the Pichari district. Felicitas is a working woman who, due to the random chance of life, lost her husband. Since then she has had to work hard with the hope that one day her children will be professionals.

She has a cacao plot in the community of Puerto Mayo that she acquired together with her husband. With the help of her children, she increased the cacao crop so that today it is quite profitable. As such her hope for the future is to acquire another plot of land in the Pichari district to continue planting cacao and therefore increase her production. This is her second loan and she is committed to being punctual with her payments. Felicitas is enthusiastic about continuing to participate in her community bank because they are all collaborators.

She will invest the 1,500 nuevos soles she has requested into hiring farm laborers to prune her cacao fields.
