A loan of $800 helped to purchase farming supplies.

Maria Fidelina's story

Maria Fidelina is 29 years old, married, and lives with her husband and single children in the canton of Guaranda in Bolivar Province.

The members of the Bellavista Communal Bank are from the community of Papauco Pucara, Guanujo Parish, in the canton of Guaranda. This community is 15 minutes away from the office of Cooperativa San Jose. There are 11 members of the Communal Bank and they engage in agriculture, raising animals, and other activities.

Maria is a farmer who grows potatoes, wheat, and corn. In addition, she rents out a truck that she owns. She purchases her supplies at the market in Guaranda and sells her products at the wholesale market in the same city.

She is requesting a loan to buy supplies for her crops. With the financial assistance provided through this loan, she will be able to acquire needed supplies. Among the challenges she faces are pests and diseases. Her dreams are to have a home of her own and to buy more land so that she can increase production.

Maria enjoys knitting, traveling, and dancing.
