A loan helped to buy fabric, thread, and needles.

Rubí's story

Ms. Rubí is a member of the "Mujeres Solidarias" ("Women's Solidarity") communal bank in the district of Caleria, department of Ucayali. She is 50 years old, married, and has four children.

She has been working with loans from Manuela Ramos for three years. She works sewing and making garments. She has a well-equipped workshop with four sewing machines, two of which are industrial.

She will buy the following with her new loan of 2,200 nuevos soles: 15 kilograms of cotton fabric, 12 bobbins of thread in various colors, 1/2 a liter of machine oil, and four needle cloths (one for each machine)

Her husband is an independent worker and they have had to work a great deal to be able to bring enough money into their house. This is why they both need to work to meet their family's needs.

Her children are still small and need their parents' attention.

Rubí is happy because now if she has the tools she can work and create good products.
