A loan of $3,675 helped a member to buy and process seafood destined for sale.

Sop Serigne Fallou Group's story

The solidarity group Sop Serigne Fallou of the Rabba Mbacké Village Loan Group is composed of 19 women who are linked through family, friendship, and neighbourhood ties. It was created on 10 December 2010. These women run small businesses, farm, raise sheep, make clothing, and embroider.

Ms. Soda is a married mother of three; she is 23 years old and is active in processing and selling seafood products. She has lots of experience in commerce and retail. In the photo, she is standing on the right, just behind the seated woman in the yellow boubou.

She buys her goods - fish, yett (cymbium molluscs), oysters, and dried shrimp - at the weekly markets and re-sells them at the central market in Darou Mousty.

Her loan will allow her to strengthen her business in order to earn more income.

With her profits, she contributes to providing for her family and to her children's well-being; she also intends to increase her savings.
