A loan of $800 helped to buy guinea pigs and a pair of piglets wholesale.

Alicia's story

The member belongs to the SEÑOR DE HUANCA communal bank located in the Calca district, Urubamba province, Cusco department.

She is Alicia, 31, in a common-law marriage and she has 2 children of 5 and 1 and ½. She sells retail and raises small animals such as guinea pigs, hens, chickens, and piglets. When they are grown and some have given birth, the member takes them to the central market in Calca to sell. She supplies the guinea pigs to “typical” restaurants in the sacred valley and she now needs a loan to buy guinea pigs wholesale and a pair of piglets. She would like to invest in the business and she is requesting the financing to buy the guinea pigs and piglets.

She is grateful for the support offered her and promises to make the payments in a disciplined manner.
