Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $1,000 helped to purchase ingredients, pay her food providers, and purchase kitchen tools.

Eliana's story

Eliana is a member of the community bank IMASUMAC II, located in the Huanchac district in the province and department of Cusco.

Eliana is 39 years old, married, and has three children. She works buying and selling ceviche, a delicious cold dish made from fish and onions. Making ceviche is simple and Eliana makes it with fresh ingredients she buys ahead of time.

She is asking for this loan to purchase ingredients, pay the fish merchant, purchase kitchen utensils, and pay other expenses.

Eliana appreciates the support she is given and promises to make her payments in a disciplined manner.
