A loan of $375 helped to buy several kilos of rice and sugar.

Julia's story

Julia, age 46, lives in the native community of Sanchirio (central Peruvian jungle). This is where, 26 years ago, she established her family with her husband, Herminio. They have five children who they take care off and protect in their own house.

Her main financial activity is farming. When she was a young girl she was taught how to work the land, how to make it productive, and how to live from it. That is why 25 years ago she started to grow coffee on her five hectares of land and bananas on the next six hectares.

What she likes the most is growing bananas. She likes it because every two weeks she harvests the mature fruit, thereby obtaining steady income. What she likes the least is the time when the prices are not stable in the market.

However, this does not discourage her because she receives continuous training from the cooperative where she sells her coffee crops. She continually travels to the city of Huancayo to sell her banana crops.

She is skilled in business, and a short time ago she opened a grocery store. She sells basic needs products, and she gets good earnings.

She belongs to the El Palomar al Éxito Communal Bank. This is her fourth loan with MFP. She hopes to receive your contribution in order to continue on with her objectives. She pledges, once again, to make her payments as she has done with her previous loans.

Also, it pleases her to be part of her communal bank because all of the members are responsible and very supportive people. Upon receiving your support she will use the requested money to buy several kilos of rice and sugar to stock her grocery store.
