Ramuka Group's story

Fréderique is a 44-year old vendor living in the village of Kibimba, in the Province of Gitega, in the centre of the country. She has been selling foodstuffs (tomatoes, leeks) for five years. She is also a farmer. She is married to Thimothée, a wood vendor. They have seven children, all of whom study, and four of whom are in secondary school. She herself has finished six years of elementary school.

Her loan of 320,000 Burundi francs will bolster her capital and expand her stock of tomatoes and leeks, heping her to increase her income.

She is a member of the “Ramuka” solidarity group.
