Rosa is a member of the Las Américas Communal Bank. She lives in the Tutupali Chico Sector, an area with an abundance of verdant lands and nature. Its people work in agriculture and raise animals, Many go to the city of Cuenca to work in various jobs.

Rosa is 41 years old, married, and has 6 children- ages 20,18,16,14,13, and 10. Her oldest 4 children work and help her financially. Her two youngest attend the neighborhood school. Her husband works in construction as a bricklayer. Working together as husband and wife, they have built their own home.

Rosa cleans houses, a job she has been doing since the age of 10. At her home, she raises cows, pigs, hens, and guinea pigs for consumption as well as for sale.

This is her second loan with the communal bank and she will invest the funds in the purchase of all types of food as she is going to set up a grocery store in her home. Her goal is to start up her store
