Micheline was born on April 4, 1976 in Bénin. She is married to a teacher named Christophe. The couple has three children, all enrolled in school, and living together with their parents.

Micheline stopped attending school at the secondary level. To support herself and her children, Micheline has been selling cloth, kitchen utensils and secondarily, jewelry for some thirty years. She buys her merchandise in a market in Bénin. This activity generates income that helps her cover the various family expenses. This second loan will certainly help Micheline and the other members of the group LA VOLONTE DE DIEU, to expand their businesses and grow their clientele and their revenue.

LA VOLONTE DE DIEU est un groupe constitué de trois personnes et dont la présidente (celle qui a la main levée sur la photo) se nomme Micheline. Les membres du groupe vivent dans le même quartier. Dans le but d’augmenter leur fonds de roulement, ce groupe sollicite pour la deuxième fois, un crédit auprès de ALIDé. Micheline est née le 04 Avril 1976 au Bénin. Micheline est mariée à un enseignant du nom de Christophe. Le couple a trois enfants tous scolarisés et vivant ensemble avec eux. Micheline a arrêté l'école au cours secondaire. Pour subvenir à ses besoins et à ceux de ses enfants, Micheline mène comme activité la vente de tissus, d'ustensiles de cuisine et de bijoux de façon secondaire, depuis une trentaine d'année. Micheline s'approvisionne dans l'un des marchés du Bénin. Cette activité lui génère des revenus, l'aidant ainsi à assurer les diverses charges de sa famille. Ce deuxième prêt permettra certainement à Micheline et aux autres membres du groupe LA VOLONTE DE DIEU, de rehausser le niveau de leur activité et d’accroître leur clientèle et leur revenu.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
