A loan of $375 helped to buy six [dead] lambs.

Eugenia's story

Eugenia is a member of the "San Miguel Arcángel II” community bank which is located in Ilave district, in El Collao province, in Puno department. She is 39 years old, married, and has two children. She studied up to the fourth year of high school.

Eugenia has been working with Movimiento Manuela Ramos for two loan cycles. Her first loan was for 500 Peruvian soles and she invested that money in her business selling beef and pork.

Eugenia is requesting a new loan for 1,000 soles which she will invest in buying six [dead] lambs to sell in Ilave market. Eugenia's husband and children help her in her business. She tells us that her husband works as a driver, providing an urban transport service.

Eugenia's dream is to own a grocery store and a meat cutter. What she likes most about her community bank is the ease of the loans.
