A loan of $450 helped to buy a display case as well as the clothing and accessories ordered by her customers.

Yeimi's story

25-year old Yeimi decided to earn enough money to pay for her studies through an enterprising and successful idea. She sells products from specialist catalogs such as cosmetics, lotions, women’s clothing and accessories. Her customers buy on credit, and if the items are satisfactory, she puts them on display and then sells them for cash. Her customers are neighbours, friends, relatives, and people who have been referred to her. Together they form a permanent customer base.

This is Yeimi’s first loan with Kiva partner Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. She will use the money to buy a display case as at the moment most of her products are housed in a suitcase. She also wishes to buy the clothing and accessories that have been ordered by her customers.

Yeimi’s dream is to have a fixed place for her business separate from where her family lives. Her biggest problem is the lack of capital to buy what her customers have asked for. This is why she is seeking a loan from Kiva.
