A loan of $725 helped to buy tools for her furniture-making workshop.

Demetria's story

31-year old Demetria lives with 34-year old Mauro and their four lovely children. They live in their own house in Pichari district. Demetria runs a carpentry workshop with her husband. Previously they worked on the land but this did not provide them with the income they wanted.

Now Demetria makes furniture that has been previously ordered by her customers. She is happy with this work as it allows her to be creative and innovative in accordance with the taste and preferences of her customers. The business is doing well and she is getting good results.

In the future Demetria wishes to expand the business and buy innovative tools which will allow her to make more furniture in record time. For this reason she approached Kiva partner MFP to ask for a new loan so she can achieve this long-awaited dream. This will be her second loan and she is greatly looking forward to help from donors so that she can develop her business. With the 2,000 soles Demetria will buy tools so that she can work more efficiently.
