Skeeter

Kenya
Kisauni, Kenya / Food Market

A loan of $450 helped to build a business structure by purchasing timber and iron sheets and by paying for labor.

Skeeter's story

Skeeter is a married woman with four children, all of whom attend school. She lives in a rental house that has electricity and piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.

For the past three years, she has operated a food vending business, selling to her neighbors and passersby. She faces a major challenge of high cost of transportation and seasonality in her business. She dreams of establishing a café business in the future.

With the 40,000 KES, she wants to build a business structure by purchasing timber and iron sheets and by paying for labor. She decided to join Yehu to improve her living standards.
