A loan of $750 helped to buy a cow.

Oscar's story

50 year-old Oscar lives in the small village of Antabamba. There he formed his family together with Gregoria, his wife of 20 years. They have four dependent children with whom they live in their own home. Every morning, Oscar gets up very early to go out and care for his farmland which he has been sowing for 20 years with a lot of commitment. His main crops are potatoes and peas that he grows on his own land. This makes him good profits in the wholesale market in the city of Tarma. In parallel with this activity, he also raises cattle. Over all these years of hard work, he has managed to obtain 25 cows whose milk he uses to make an average of 30 to 40 cheeses a week which he sells to the dairy company “La Tarmeñita”. In addition to offering him a good price for his products, they also train him in how to continually improve the quality of his milk. Oscar is happy with his achievements and he says that he would like to save the money he needs to be able to provide a better quality of life for his children who are young and studying university degrees. He belongs to the "Los Pinos de Antabamba" community bank and this is his fourth loan from MFP. He hopes to receive your support in helping him achieve his goals. For his part, he pledges once more to make his repayments on time as he has done with previous loans that he has received. Oscar, with your support, will invest the money he has requested in buying a good breed of dairy cow which will provide him with more milk. He says that they cost, on average, 1,000 Peruvian soles each.
