Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $3,100 helped a member to buy ingredients for her meals preparation.

Mujeres Emprendedoras Group's story

The “Mujeres Emprendedoras” (Enterprising Women) committee was formed by the joining together of several neighbors from the city of Emboscada.

All the members of the committee participate actively and cooperatively. They form a very untied group that is capable of carrying out joint activities that strengthen their companionship.

Vicenta is one of the committee members. She has a very unified family with four children and an employed husband.

She has been selling prepared meals for several years so she has a well defined customer base but she’d like to expand.

She defines herself as a good cook since her dishes satisfy her customers. She dreams with having a great food stand where she can tantalize her customers’ taste buds with her dishes.

She is asking for the loan to buy ingredients needed to prepare her dishes such as meats, vegetables, spices, noodles, etc. She believes that the loan will be of great help to reach her dreams.

In this group: Vicenta *, Agne *, Irene, Arsenia , Genara , Ana , Ygnacia , Johana, Gerovina , Nelly, Yani, Flora, Odina , Luz, Carmen
