Isisekelo Group's story

Siphiwe is 60 years old and single with six children between the ages of 21 and 39 years old, one of which attends school. She runs a clothing business in Kwa Zulu Natal of Empangeni in South Africa. In the photo she is pictured rasing her hand.

She has been in this business for 7 years selling clothes to people who are working in farms. She also receives income from the goverment old age pension fund. Siphiwe requested this loan through WDB and Kiva to buy clothes for resale. She says that the extra income form this loan will help her improove her life and her famillies buy putting food on the table and paying for her children's school fees. She faces a challenge of customers who buy on credit and fail to pay on time. In the future, she would like to see her business grow.
