Sebastiana Gregoria's story

Sebastiana is a member of the communal lender “Virgen de Concepción”, in Ayrumas Carumas, Acora, Puno, Peru. She is 42, married and has 6 children (two live independently). She studied until the 5th year of primary school. Sebastiana raises farm animals such as sheep and alpacas. With her first loan last year with Movimiento Manuela Ramos of S/. 500.00 she bought 4 sheep. Now she seeks a credit of S/ 1500.00 to buy twelve lambs to sell in the market of Totorani. Her sons and friends assist her in her work, as her husband works faraway in the city of Tacna. She also sews to supplement her income. Sebastiana hopes to have a better house one day and open a local hardware store. She enjoys her association with microcredit and especially the gatherings and seeing her projects pay out.
