Pedro Rafael's story

Pedro, 43, is from the city of León. He’s married and the father of three children. He’s an Accountant by profession and also owns a bakery. He started this business at the age of 23. He used to work as an accountant for a state institution. Back then he was 18 years old. He was also taking Agricultural Engineering courses while working but it became difficult to pay for the schooling because his family was going through a difficult economic situation. He had to stop studying and had lost his job.

An uncle encouraged him to set up his own business so that he could get ahead. He did so and gradually attained the bakery he has today. He asked for the loan to buy an industrial oven to increase bread production and meet customer demand increasing income through his sales.

He wants to open new markets in the rural parts of León because he feels they are good sales points for his products and to buy a motorcycle to distribute his products and save on fuel. His next steps include doing some improvements to the business and modernizing some of his work tools like buying an industrial mixer.
