A loan of $300 helped to buy home appliances (television, stereo, etc.).

Xavier's story

Xavier is a native of Montepuez, Cabo Delgado Province in northern Mozambique. He is married and has four children between the ages of 2 and 20. Xavier finished seventh grade and stopped school when he began compulsory military service. He lives in his own house with his family and supports his brother-in-law, who lives with him.

He left Montepuez to come to Maputo when the war ended. Xavier currently works as a security officer for a company and has worked there for more than 12 years. He earns a salary of 4,000 meticais per month, which he uses for household expenses. He also saves some money in his bank account.

Xavier has never had loans from other banks. He learned about Hluvuku through friends who are customers of this institution, and this is his fifth loan. He is asking for 8,000 meticais, which he will use to buy home appliances (television, stereo and other items) for his house.

His dream is to expand his house to guarantee his family's comfort, and for this reason he intends to ask Hluvuku for more loans.
