Saira's story

Saira is a 48-year-old lady and operates a power loom business at her home. She is very much an expert in her work and makes cloth from it. She is also a very good housewife and a mother. She tries to provide comfort to her family by fulfilling their needs. She is the mother of five children. Three of them study while another stays at home. Her eldest son who is 21 years old left his education after 10th standard and started sewing and embroidery work to share the financial burden with his parents. He is now an expert in his work. Saira has applied for a loan from Kiva partner Asasah for the further expansion of her own business. With the loan, she will repair her power loom and also buy some thread that will allow her to continue her work and finish the orders quickly and more efficiently. She has been operating her business for the past 15 years and hopes that a loan investment will help her improve her business further.
