Solano Group's story

This group includes Hortensia, Silvana and Ulises, three hardworking people who come from the Martin Castellon housing development in Nindiri. Hortensia is the coordinator of the group. She started a business selling a variety of food items (snacks, potato cakes, enchiladas, tacos, etc.) Later with the earnings from that enterprise she started a catering business, and started investing to grow the business.

Hortensia works side by side with her husband to make her business work; they deliver food to a number of different companies. With this loan, Hortensia will buy rice, cooking oil, beans, onions, meat and other items.

Ulises works as a fare collector on a minibus, and he also has an eatery that his wife looks after. Silvana has been selling seafood for 16 years.
