Rosas De Chijini Group's story

The communal bank "Rosas de Chijini" will start its first loan cycle with Pro Mujer; they meet in the central office of Villa Adela. This group has 8 members and is led by a board of directors; Mercedes is the secretary. The women in the group have a variety of economic activities, including: clothing sales, food sales, working in a quarry, cosmetic sales, Internet services, neighborhood store, photocopies, and used clothing sales.

Mercedes says that this is the first loan cycle that she has been with Pro Mujer; she joined the organization by invitation. Now she has a neighborhood store that she started 6 months ago.

She will use the loan that she will take to buy merchandise for her store (noodles, rice, cooking oil, vegetables, etc.) She will buy these products in the city of El Alto and she will sell them every day in her store. This type of work allows her to generate resources to support her family; she contributes as much as she can to her household which includes her common-law husband and their 2 children. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she responded that she likes the training and the health services.

In this group: Victoria, Mercedez, Marlene , Nelly Julia, Inocencia, Maria Del Carmen, Cristina, Mariana
