Maria's story

María, 56, is a very unassuming, hard working woman living in her own home with her beloved daughter, Nélida, 30. What she most wants is to work hard to improve her quality of life. María is a street vendor; she sells fish. She delivers fish door to door and sells at very affordable prices. She has many customers because she sells the freshest and most delicious fish in the market and she is a very cheerful seller that always draws a smile from her customers.

She’s been in business for two years and considers the most difficult part of it having to stand the strong odor of the fish because it sticks to her clothes and she pretty much has to put up with it all day. However, she knows this is part of the job she has to do to earn more money.

This will be her third loan with MFP so she is hoping to have support from each one of you in order to stay in business. She is a very well liked member of her communal bank because if the joy she brings to the group. She will use the requested 2000 new soles to buy more fish since it’s been in higher demand lately.
