A loan of $1,100 helped to purchase sacks of cacao beans in bulk.

Emiliana's story

Emiliana is 29 years old and married to Andrés, age 33. They have two children, Kelly (age 14) and Andrés (age 5). Emiliana lives in her own home in the central village of Canayre in the District of Llochegua. She buys and sells cacao. Emiliana and her husband have managed this business together for the past six years. She considers her business to be profitable because there are many farmers who offer her sacks of cacao that they have harvested. Depending on the quality of the product, Emiliana will buy the sacks of cacao and sell them to a commercial broker who distributes them in different cities. Her only difficulty is transporting her goods to the either the District of Pichari or Llochegua, where the large collection centers are located. She is not able to travel to Canayre due to the bad condition of the roads as well as not having her own mode of transportation.

For this reason, Emiliana has returned to MFP to request a loan. She plans to increase her capital so that she can buy in larger volumes to earn more income. This will be her third loan with MFP and she hopes to obtain everyone’s support. Emiliana is a woman who is of good principles and collaborates with her Communal Bank. Her loan of 3000 PEN will help her acquire larger volumes of cacao beans.
