A loan of $4,725 helped a member to buy and sell more bricks.

Dockers Group's story

Fatuma, who is in her late 20s, is married with two children, both of whom attend school. She has been selling bricks for 6 years. She works from 3 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily and is able to make a good monthly profit.

This will be Fatuma's 7th loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to open a shop containing cosmetics and undergarments in the Shinyanga District (almost 300 kilometers from Dar es salam). She also bought and sold bricks. Fatuma has repaid all her loans successfully and wishes for a new loan to buy and sell more bricks. Her dream is to one day own a nice house and a business car like a pickup.

Fatuma will share this loan with her loan group "Dockers", which consists of 15 members, who will hold each other accountable in repaying their loans.

In this group: Fatuma, Emmy, Khabiba, Mwinyi, Wema, Frank, Aisha, Kulwa, Nassoro, Nyamizi*, Saada*, Mwanaidi, Shida, Musa, Agnes*
