A loan of $925 helped to buy sacks of organic fertilizer.

Evaristo's story

Evaristo is 40 years old. He is a cheerful and hard-working man who lives in his own home together with his wife, 43 year-old Graciela. They have three children from their relationship who they would like to provide with a better education. The farmland that Evaristo managed to acquire through a lot of effort, is his main source of support for his family. His produce is very much in demand in the city of San Francisco since his cacao, coffee, barbasco and turmeric root harvests are very good quality. As a result, they fetch a very good price. What Evaristo most enjoys about his work is protecting his crops from the pest infestations which damage his plants and, consequently, affect his profits. He has been in this business for 15 years and he considers the most difficult part of his work to be transporting his sacks full of fruit since they are very heavy and sap his energy. Evaristo needs this loan to buy sacks of manure so that he can improve his land and later harvest plenty of good-quality fruit. In order to improve his income, Evaristo is about to buy a plot of land. He is planning to grow bananas all around the perimeter. This is Evaristo's first loan and he is happy to know that he will have financial support since it will enable him to safely buy what he needs. For his part, he is ready to make his loan repayments on time. Evaristo will use the 3,000 Peruvian soles to buy sacks of organic fertilizer with which to fertilize his land.
