A loan of $375 helped to purchase more meat to stock up her business.

Gilda's story

Gilda, 42 years old, is a very friendly and hardworking woman. She lives in her own home with her husband, Manuel, who is 47, and her beloved daughter Tracy, who is five. She wants to give them a better quality of life. Selling meat has given Gilda the necessary income to support her family. Her stand is in the N° 2 Market (and important market in the city of Pucallpa), which is very well visited since the meat that she sells is very fresh and flavorful. This has given her a good reputation and brings her many customers. The thing she most likes about her work is getting to know her customers over the meat that will give all their meals more flavor. She has been in this business for 20 years, and the thing she finds most difficult about it is having to stay at her stand all day without being able to leave. This is, however, part of the sacrifice necessary for making more money. She hopes that in time she will have a bigger butcher shop where she can serve more customers. This will be her fourth loan through Kiva partner MFP, and she hopes for all of your support in realizing her goals. She is a very active and loyal member of her community bank, which is why she is so respected by the other members. With the 1,000 nuevos soles that she has requested, she will purchase more meat for her business, since demand has recently grown.
