A loan of $2,000 helped a member to buy stock such as shoes and suits.

Tashinga B Seke South Group's story

This is 65-year-old Ruth (in the middle) from Chitungwiza, a high-density suburb about 30 km. from Harare. She is married with three children, all attending school. She also cares for four dependents.

Ruth runs a clothing business selling ladies clothes. The business has been in operation for 5 years. She says the main challenge faced is the lack of capital to meet her order demands. Ruth has requested a loan of $400 to buy shoes and suits for resale. She says the extra income generated as a result of this loan will allow her to increase the family’s cash flow and quality of life.

In the future, Ruth plans to have her own clothing shop and see her grandchildren through their education.
